AI Consulting / AI Agent Development

Designing and building autonomous AI systems that reason, act, and recover from failure. From single-agent tools to complex multi-agent architectures.

What's involved

Beyond the prototype.

01

Agent Architecture

Designing the right agent topology for your use case — single agents with tool use, multi-agent pipelines, or orchestrated workflows. Getting this right early avoids expensive rework.

02

Memory & Context Design

Agents that work in demos often fail in production because context management is hard. I design memory architectures — episodic, semantic, and working memory — that hold up over long horizons.

03

Tool Use & Integration

Building reliable tool-use pipelines: function calling, structured outputs, error recovery, and graceful degradation. Ensuring agents interact with external systems safely and predictably.

04

Evaluation & Deployment

Production AI agents require evaluation frameworks, not just vibes. I help teams build systematic evals, deployment infrastructure, and the observability layer that makes production agents trustworthy.

Approach

The hard part is not the model.

AI agents are one of the most consequential architectural decisions teams face right now. The design space is wide, the tradeoffs are non-obvious, and a system that works in a controlled demo can fail unpredictably in production.

The questions that matter: what should the agent actually own, how do you handle failure and recovery, where does the boundary between agent autonomy and human oversight sit, and how do you evaluate whether it is working correctly.

I have built agents across a range of domains — including TraceLM, an LLM observability platform with time-travel debugging — and have published research on long-horizon memory architectures for LLM agents.

The most common mistake I see is building agents before the underlying task is well-understood. Good agent architecture starts with a clear problem definition, not a framework choice.

Work together

Building an AI agent system?

Whether you are evaluating whether agents are the right approach, or need help moving an existing system to production — I can help you think it through and build it right.
